A/C System Charge Diagnosis

1. Locate the charging hose with the in-line gauge and low side quick connect fitting included with the kit and turn the valve handle counterclockwise until the piercing stem is in the upright position. This will prevent piercing the R134a can when attaching the charge hose. Attach the charging hose to the top of an R134a can of refrigerant.
   
2. Locate the low side service port on the A/C system. After removing the cap from the low side service port, attach the low side quick connect fitting on the charging hose to the low side service port by pulling the connector ring back on the quick connect fitting as you push in onto the low side service port. Make sure the quick connect fitting is tight on the low side service port.
   
3. Start engine and set A/C system control to Max A/C and inside system fan to High. Run the A/C system for 2-3 minutes.
   
4. With the A/C system on and the vehicle engine running at approximately 1500RPM, observe the pressure reading on the in-line gauge and compare with the chart below.

	PSI* READING CONDITION 0-24 Blue - Low System may require additional refrigerant 25-44 Green - Normal System has proper amount of refrigerant 45-64 Yellow - Caution System is possibly overcharged. DO NOT ADD REFRIGERANT! Seek professional help. 65-200 Red - DANGER Your system may have a problem other than low refrigerant. DO NOT ADD REFRIGERANT! Seek professional help.
	* Pressure readings shown are typical for ambient temperatures of 75-80°F. Pressur readings may be higher at higher tempertures or lower at lower temperatures.

A/C System Charging Procedure

READ CAREFULLY OTHER PRECAUTIONS ON BACK LABEL OF R134a REFRIGERANT CAN BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT!

1. With the charging hose attached to the low side of the vehicle's A/C system on one side and a can of R134a refrigerant on the other, turn valve handle of the charging hose clockwise until the piercing stem has punctured the R134a can. Turn the valve handle counterclockwise until you can hear refrigerant leaving the can. Hold the R134a can in an upside down position until approximately 1/2 of the refrigerant inside the can has been dispensed. Turn the valve handle clockwise to close the valve. Observe the pressure reading on the in-line pressure gauge. Refer to the Pressure Gauge Chart to determine if additional refrigerant is necessary. If so, add the remainder of the R134a refrigerant into the A/C system.
   
2. Observe the pressure reading on the in-line pressure gauge. Refer to the Pressure Gauge Chart to determine if additional refrigerant is necessary.
   
3. If additional refrigerant is required, remove quick connect fitting by pulling back on the connector ring and then pull the quick connect fitting off the service port. Remove the R134a can from the charging hose and discard. Turn the valve handle counter clockwise until the piercing stem is in the up position. This will prevent piercing the new can of R134a refrigerant. Attach the charging hose to the top of the new R134a can. Repeat Steps 1-2.
   
4. If A/C system charge is in the Normal range, remove the quick connect fitting by pulling back on the connector ring and then pulling it off the service port. Remove the can from the charging hose and discard.
